38 officers of BEPZA have been trained to develop environmental management of EPZs. Recently certificate awarded to the trainee after completion of 3 months long training program organized by Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) in collaboration with the Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST).

As the chief guest of certificate awarding ceremony, the Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, said that, BEPZA is determined to monitor and ensure environmental compliance of the 8 EPZs of the country. In this consequence, this training program has been organized for environmental development of the Export Processing Zones. He said that, successful completion of this training program would definitely facilitate institutionalization of environmental compliances across the EPZs. He wishes that the officers of BEPZA would use their gathered knowledge of the training in the development of environment of EPZs.

General Habib said the primary objective of an EPZ is to provide special areas where potential investors would find a congenial investment climate, free from all sort of cumbersome procedures. The vision of BEPZA is to build a stronger and economically prosperous Bangladesh. He congratulated the trainee for successful accomplishment of the training and expressed his gratitude to MIST for their nice cooperation to arrange such kind of training program.

Maj Gen Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarker, hdmc, psc, Commandant of MIST, Brig Gen F M Zahid Hossain, afwc, psc, Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Colonel Shah Md. Muniruzzaman, psc, Head of Civil Engineering Department of MIST delivered their valuable speech at the certificate awarding ceremony. Members and other high officials of BEPZA were present at the program.
